A Day in Their Shoes

Imagine feeling as though you have no control of your own mind, experiencing uncomfortable body symptoms that can range from feeling as though you are having a heart attack to feeling paralyzed, and having every aspect of your life affected, but not knowing why. This is what an individual experiencing a mental illness can face…Imagine living day in and day out, in their shoes.

A Day in Their Shoes is a new fund-raising and awareness gala for the Canadian Mental Health Association of New Brunswick (CMHA of NB) Fredericton that will bring to light families that have lived-experience with mental illness, situational mental health conditions, PTSD, anxiety, and/or depression.

This event promises to be an artistic night of poetry and fashion, with a dazzling performance by SNAP, a burlesque show. Enjoy delicious decadent desserts and a fantastic silent auction raffle.

Unique to A Day in Their Shoes, our guest speakers that evening will be the people / families / supporters who will model beautiful clothing from Downtown Fredericton retailers, and they’ll also share empowering, raw, authentic stories of living with, overcoming and recovering from mental illness.
