Judy’s Story
Judy served 34.5 years in the RCA as an AVN Tech. 3B Release May 2016 from Trenton, Ontario.
Judy says she has no musical talent, but a great appreciation for it. She’s always dabbled in writing short stories and poems. With respect to music, throughout the years she found herself listening more to the words of a song and it amazed her how a song written by a complete stranger can say exactly what you are feeling and thinking. Someone else in the world has the same feelings and thoughts, you are not alone. Songs can give you comfort, happiness, courage and strength. Judy hopes her song can speak to others and let them know they are not alone.
“To be chosen for this project is surprising as it’s my first public set of lyrics, scary to share these personal thoughts and validation that it meant something to someone, and hopeful that it will reach others.” – Judy
Lyrics
The fight within me began when I was seventeen, left my home for a new dream
That period of time was foreign to my soul, do I lose myself to reach my goal?
This is not forever, I am told
The fight within continued to spin
Wanting to do well in an unknown world to which I had to endure
Guess this is normal when breaking new ground, challenges were found
Do I rise to meet them or allow them to pull me down
This is my career I have found
The fight within continued on
Even after years of playing this game, things went back to the same
Not everyone or everything was bad
Some experiences I wouldn’t trade, and some I wish I never had
A lifetime of service thinking one day you can make a change
Lifelong friends, some lost, some found
Am I proud or sad, do I cherish the memories or do I cry in rage?
Do I let the weight crush me, or do I search for the spark to keep the fight alive
The fight within began when I was seventeen
But today it’s stronger than it’s ever been
They didn’t break me with their ways
I have to remember the sunny days
Cherish the good, accept and learn from the bad, it was the life I had
Remember who you are, be proud that you walked that path
Take back your truth, relieve yourself of your inner pain
And look forward to the future and everything you still have to gain
The fight within is to live life again
