Events like Curl for Mental Health help increase public awareness, reduce the stigma associated with mental illness and provide an opportunity to fundraise the needed funds for our much-needed community programs and services. Our programs provide individuals with the tools they need to improve their mental health as well as resources for those who are struggling with mental illness in our community. With your help we can send the message to the public about the importance of mental health, through this day of entertainment and fun!
Mental health and physical health are fundamentally linked – regular physical activity improves psychological well-being and can help reduce the symptoms of depression and anxiety in some people. CMHA of NB aims to address all aspects of mental health / wellness, and mental illness. Mental illness costs the Canadian economy a staggering $51-billion a year, and 1 in 5 Canadians will personally experience a mental illness in their lifetime. But the reality is, 5 in 5 Canadians will experience a mental health issue at some point in their life. We all should practice good mental and physical health for a healthier society!
